I know very little or I might say nothing of the circumstance of the little girl Kitty Brooks leaving the city 

I knew the family in 1866, they were nice people and I was very anxious to have them go North.

When the child disappeared, the Mother came and told me the child was lost. I sent her to the different Intelligence Offices in the city. in a few days she came and told me the child had been sent North by Mrs Griffing. I do not remember that she told me anything else about it.

I only remember the child
