Jan. 3 Wed.
Wind blowing snow so thickly from the south we could not work or see any meteorites. Spent all day in camp. Intended to write letters etc, but only dozed, ate, & waited. It is too easy to just relax, when no demands are made, here in the cold. After supper the sky was clear w less wind & snow & a promising change for tomorrow. This site is beautiful. Higher than Darwin (~6000') colder, windier. All tents face N. to avoid the constant S. wind. Ranges of hills nearby enclose camp in horseshoe - w clear ice & some icy monoclines to N.
