Pioneer Aviatrix Gives 14' Poster to Air Museum

Washington - (GNS) - Evidence that she was amongst the world's earliest aviators was presented to the National Air Museum here yesterday by Mrs. Blanche Stuart Scott.
Mrs. Scott, native Rochestarian, was active in radio work in that city for many years. She now conducts a radio program over station WLEA, Hornell.
Mrs. Scott presented Paul E. Garber, head curator of the air museum, with a poster advertising a barnstorming group with which she flew as an exhibition or "stunt" pilot in 1914.
She claims she was the first American woman to fly a plane alone, taking one aloft in 1910after having ben taught to fly by Glenn H. Curtiss at his flying school at Hammondsport on Keuka Lake.
