BLANCH STEWART SCOTT, called the tomboy of the air. Her first great feat was to drive an Overland car across the United States. Quite a feat for a woman. She then learned to fly and became America's first lady aviatrix. Blanch was the first woman to use ladies bloomers as flying apparel.  Sept 6 1910 Oct 20
DE LLOYD THOMPSON. Lloyd worked one popcorn wagon until he heard aviators made a lot of money, so he learned to fly. He was one of the first aviators to lose a wheel from his ship while in the air, and made a landing not wrecking the ship. He invented a new stunt called the tumble, he would - release all the controls so the machine would fall like a wounded bird.

HARRIET QUIMBY - first woman to fly the English Channel. She quit her job as a dramatic editor of Leslies Weekly to become a famous aviatrix. First woman to be killed flying in America.

KATHRINE STINSON - first woman to learn to fly a Wright machine. She was the first woman to fly at night with an illuminated plane. She is the sister of the famous Eddie Stinson

CHARLES F. NILES - first man to fly over western Canada where aeroplanes had never been seen before. Charley also flew the first Thomas Bros. geared propeller ship. He came in second in the New York Aerial Derby.

RUTH BANCROFT LAW - was a Boston girl who learned to fly from Harry Atwood and she could do some stunts, among them was to loop the loop. Ruth's brother Rodman won the first stunt man to jump from an aeroplane in flight to the water

ART HARTMAN. Art was an early balloon pilot, he was known then as Art Hart. He later learned to fly a biplane and was quite a barnstormer.
