Tonight at the National Aircraft Show, visitors are walking thru American air liners, seeing for themselves the equipment that promises luxurious world air travel. At the International Bazaar, products flown to the Air Show from all over the world are on display to demonstrate the idea of better living thru international air transport! But] public acceptance of the air miracle didn't happen overnight. Before flyers could be considered anything but daredevils, the pubic had to see practical, home people safely flying the new air machines. Glen Curtiss gave the public its day in September of 1910 at Hammondsport, New York. In an open field, surrounding by tree swept hills, he gave flying lessons to the first woman air cadet ...

CURTISS: Now do you know the stick and rudder movements? Do you have the feel of the throttle?

BLANCHE: Yes, yes. I've been taxing back and forth across this field so long I have a nodding acquaintance with every tuft of grass.
