This advice has stood me in good stead all my life. I don't advocate using this idea as a gimmick, but fact up to it, if you are in public life, the newapeprman and now the TV or radio commentator or interviewer, gives your career a little impetus every time he mentions it. So a word to the writer is an investment in good will. As I think of it, I recall Bill quoting to me a famous saying attributed to the glamorous Lillian Russell, which was, "Talk good about me if you can, bad about me if you must, but for God's sake talk about me."
