We awoke to the music of wind and blowing snow. That meant snuggle in again in the marvelously warm sleeping bag. It was after 10 -- nearly 11 before we stirred & lit the stove. It was obvious that we would go out in the afternoon as the wind was diminishing. About 11:50 John stopped by to say we would go out in about an hour.

It was another warm ~20[[degree]]f afternoon completely overcast to the degree that neither John nor I wore our dark glasses. One more collecting day in the area over the hill from camp. Spectacular. John began the day by finding a big weathered, fractured meteorite, ~10" in long direction. We all stood & watched the collection -- that is Gh & Bob did because it was so unusual to have such a lovely big specimen. All of us found many stones. Most of them small -- lima bean to Brazil nut size. Then, digging into the snow over a dark patch I found a beautiful achondrite w 70% fusion crust; ~ 3 x 2 1/2" or more. Toward the end of the day I found, in the moraine, the twin to John's

big brown fractured stone. You could see daylight thru at least one of the crevasses. John rode up to me & said "Really?" He was incredulous that this large object should be a meteorite -- yet is was a twin to his & we collected it. By then everyone was used to finding meteorites & so Bob & Gh stayed on traverse throughout.

Today I took a very nasty fall. I picked up my camera after a collection to go to my skidoo - stepped off a snow mound onto the ice & went flat on my back -- hard. Head crashed onto ice, elbow crashed squarely on & I lay [[strikethrough]] spralled [[/strikethrough]] sprawled & helpless w both arms tingling & asleep. Numb from shoulders to fingertips. I could not move at first. Then, w John at my side, I began to get up. Felt [[plus/minus sign]] whole but had a great urge to cry -- the shock, the insult. I continued working wondering what concussion may follow. But action was probably better than inaction. Also, I feel well padded.

Tonight I have a big lump on back of my head & one w broken skin on elbow. Also a bit of pain on left seat bone. I think I'm going to be OK though. Oddly enough, my jaws ached from the 1st. I must have crunched them unmercifully.

Steak & Brussels sprouts - & to bed ~ 9:45.
