up and had breakfast. I was out by ~ 10:00. It was perfectly beautiful, clear, & sunny. I walked around a bit admiring the scene. We went thru the food cache and selected things to go. Plus garbage & toilet bags & generator. Presently we heard the helo and saw it approaching from Mt. Brooks. It landed & Bill came out. We had much frenetic pulling out & putting in of packages. I welcomed Bill & took pictures of him unloading a case of J.B. Scotch. Then asked about my brown tote bag. He said he had it but I couldn't see it. W. my second inquiry he said it was inside Ed Fireman's ice box. Indeed it was. All intact. How soon we get used to doing without things. My dental floss & tooth brush, deodorant. Not to mention money, traveler's checks, & credit cards. Rubic cube, books, stationery. I used the floss & deodorant but forgot toothbrush when I went out -- hence, no rush to use it for 1st time in 2 weeks.

She said, finally, she was not going to send that letter -- which was as well. I said she could count on the fact that Bob loves her & she agreed. Then she did get a note from the Dept. Secretary who says she has 181 students registered in her course on the solar system. 181 has her floored. A sense of responsibility & of being able to go home soon w. a clear conscience.

A second helo was due in P.M. to bring 2 people, Collinson & Hammer, to Man Haul Bay for a few days. But by lunch time the 1st had not returned to McM. So we decided to search for meteorites over the crest of the hill near camp where John found 5 last evening as he collected ice. We had 4 skidoos for 5 people. Bill started out trying to ride on Bob's which has 2 boxes on back. It didn't work. I took him on mine & drove carefully to the field. There, John Schutt had what surely looked like a [[underlined]] second [[/underlined]] carbonaceous chondrite! We all searched about
