week. I snapped pictures all day long of things I wanted to take home.
We arrived home rather late. Gassed-up and parked our Ski-doos. Gh put her head out of our tent to greet me. I saw Bob collect my canvas cover for his machine and persuaded him to hand it over. I slipped the fron of it over my Ski-doo and at that moment a gust of wind lifted it up and to the far side. I lunged for it, caught my left Bunny Boot in my ski, lost balance, and was thrown to the ground [[underline]]with a quick twist of my left leg[[/underline]]. I knew [[underline]]something[[/underline]] had happened. Finished the covering job but nothing else & wewn tot the tent -- started in feet 1st. Gh asked me what I wanted for supper, expecting me to retrieve it. I said I had to come in. As I was half-way John comes by & asked if I had put our meteorite from my sack into the IPOD. I said I had not, but there was nothing I could do about it -- I had twisted my leg & wanted, quickly, to get my boots off & examine the situation. He offered any help & let me go. When I

explained to Ghirlaine, she was all help and sympathy. She wanted my Bunny Boot & eased it off my left foot & aided getting me out of wind pants etc. I knew my leg & ankle hurt but could see no immediate swelling. Gh. got our steaks & also wrapped my leg & ankle expertly in an elastic bandage. That helped avoid all unnecessary motion. We had a pleasant supper. Then Bill came by to inquire about my condition. I said it might not be as bad as I thought. He would check back in the morning.
I spent the night turning from one position to another trying to keep my leg comfortable. I knew in the morning, I had to leave. I would be no further use in a field season only 6 days long. Before we went to sleep Ghirlaine said something very nice. She would leave w. me and help w. all the chores at McM & chch and take care of me all the way to L.A. When she said that it was immensely comforting. I was in pain & needed such reassurance.
