couldn't hurt him. At Chch & again at Auckland they let him follow me with little regard for the rules. We should have entered the chch plane by different doors -- at Auckland they let him thru the gat & onto the plane w me without even looking at his boarding pass! Buddy up to a crippled old lady & many things are possible.

I had a comfortable seat (12H) on the plane to Hawaii. But as soon as we took off the hostess suggested I move 1 row back where I could have 3 adjacent seats to relax in. Then - the 10:20 to [[blank space]] flight to Honolulu  dinner & a movie called [[?"Fishbowl"]].

In Hawaii they had a mix up. 1st I was led solicitously off the plane & all the way to a bus shuttle. Then

news came that I was meant to be carried to customs in a motorized vehicle. Back we trudged -- quite a way --. Then along w a genuinely crippled woman in a wheel chair -- I was driven thru the misty Hawaiian night to customs. Everything was done for me -- no bags opened -- & I was deposited back at the gate. There was Dave who had been looking all over for me. 

We had hours to wait. He asked if I wanted to rent a taxi & see Honolulu in the middle of the night. Needless to say, we did not.

Back on the same plane to L.A.

At the L.A. airport I was met by a man w. a wheelchair & quickly shepherded to baggage area A. International. I had to call for a reservation so he left ne at the courtesy phone. I never saw him again.
