A foggy morning, rather warm, w. no wind. I slept rather late & had little intention of getting up early. None at all of going outside. Jeff called while Tony & I were having breakfast -- said he thought he would go out with Brian to see the K/T. Great idea, I thought, but I was not ready to contemplate such. I decided to set up my lab process in the big tent. Absolutely everybody else went out. Fred & Charlie were last to leave at ~12:30. I had a lovely, lovely time alone. I did set up w sieves & dried my sand next to 2 Coleman lanterns. Also dried boots over the lamps. Had snack lunch &, later, began to make boxes. This time I knew what effect to aim for -- a recess at top for sliding cover, for instance -- and enjoyed it so much I made four of them. Suddenly, in mid p.m. it began to snow & the wind came up. I knew I couldn't get out without being soaked -- after spending all day trying to get dry. Out of the fog & wind & driving snow people began to come in -- Woodburne first, then Steve & others, Fred & Charlie (who had found a fine fossil fish), Bill & Jeff Stillwell, Phil, Brian and Jeff Post (completely snow-covered), finally Brian and Tony. The big tent is a godsend to this camp. Fred & I decided to make our communal supper in cook tent -- beef stroganoff. Actually, he began it & I went over when I heard voices. There were Fred, Charlie, Jeff Stillwell, Scott. Toni (Tonianne) stayed in Phil's tent until late, then joined us just in time to eat. We six ate two whole gallon cans of dehydrated Stroganoff - then had strawberries topped w. vanilla pudding.

After supper Bill came by to remind me to come to

radio tent at 8:00. He also offered to get our Coleman lantern going later in evening. Toni had to ink her sketches & do her notes in evening. I suggested that, w. my new boxes we redecorate our apartment & she agreed. I mucked out food box & added a box for Stove & lanterns. More, later.

At 8:00 (actually about 7:45) I entered the lovely warm cook & radio tent & sat w. Bill & Mike. Mike was at the set. After much trying & continual static he failed to reach either the Polar Duke or Palmer Station, so our planned showdown w Buzy about coming on the 12th of March failed to materialize. Same time tomorrow night.

Forgot to mention that I began to itch last night, between my breasts. Found a red rash this am over much of chest and, obviously, my back as well. I can feel the bumps altho cannot see them. What in the world? Haven't noticed it all day but am reminded now because of an itchy back. I actually feel pretty good.

After radio attempt, Bill had supper, then activated lantern. I wound up bringing a small Coleman home & it is nice to have it in tent. The tents look lovely with an orange glow after dark.

At supper Charlie told about his Dad and how the two work together in their own consulting firm -- a [[?]] bldg. on own property outside Denver. Fred works with them. A very attractive arrangement.

Fred told us about his former girl w a fierce drug addiction that began upon waking up & went thru day at $100 per - at least. She left him when he insisted on cutting down. He also told of what a fine scientist and lovely person is Rosemary Atkins -- also v. rich.
