GERMAN AERONAUTS WANTED.
        ------
Mr. Lahm to Sail for Europe to Complete Race Plans.

Frank S. Lahm, the father of Lieut Frank
P. Lahm, who won the Gordon Bennet international balloon trophy last year in the first
competition in France, will sail for Europe
next Tursday as a special Commissioner from
the Aero Club of America to compete arrangements with the foreign clubs for the international race at St. Louis next October. Mr.
Lahm is himself an aeronaut of considerable
distinction, having lived for a number of years
in Paris, where he has made man ascensions. A special request will be sent to the German Aero Club to send representatives, and a committee of German citizens in St. Louis is now formulating a plan whereby the expense of bringing over the German club's balloons will be partially defrayed by the St. Louis Aero Club. The only foreign countries that have thus far sent formal challenge for the race are France and England. The enties close on Feb. 1.
President Cortlandt Field Bishop of the Aero Club of American and a number of members will give Mr. Lahm a dinner early in the week, when the final plans for the contest will be discussed.
