PREPARING FOR FLIGHT IN AIR
Aero Club of St. Louis Offers Prizes For Aeroplanes and Dirigible Balloons- Arranging Several Contests.
New York, April 9.—Word was received last night by the Aero Club of America that prizes aggregating $5,000 have been offered by the Aero Club of St. Louis for aeroplanes and dirigible balloons. Contests will be arranged for the days immediately preceding and following the race for the International Challenge Cup, which is scheduled to take place October 19 from St. Louis. This announcement created much interest among the members of the club gathered to hear Capt. T. T. Lovelace describe Kingston as seen from a balloon a few days after the earthquake. Captain Lovelace was on his way to Jamaica when the earthquake occurred, and as soon as he reached the city he made an ascension, floating above the ruins and taking many photographs. Captain Lovelace, with Alan R. Hawley and A. N. Chandler, have entered in a balloon race to be sailed on the opening day of the Jamestown Exposition. Mr. Hawley and Mr. Chandler, the former in the Orient and the latter in the Initial, are planning to make a joint ascension from Philadelphia next Saturday. A. M. Herring, one of the leading authorities in this country on aeroplanes, will address the Aero Club next Monday night and Nikola Tesla in the near future.

LA NAVIGAZIONE AEREA
Nuovi tentativi a Parigi
PARIGI, 9, or 6.4.--(Canè).
