Major
I recd a letter yesterday from Major Ketchum stating that I had not settled my accounts with you and directing me to do so at once. I am not aware that there are any accounts to settle with you. I have not been responsible for any Bureau Stores since March 15th and I have your receipt for that month. The provisions of Circular No 3 I complied with as your letter of June 9th shows. As I [[strikethrough]] report [[/strikethrough]] make my returns direct to the Q M Genl. for Q. M Stores, and have the receipt for March and the same from the Ordnance Dept I am at a loss to know what accounts are still open. Will you therefore be pleased to inform me what there is for me to report or make a return of

I am Major
Yours Respectfully
