I have the honor to state that Miss Heacock. In charge of Light Diet Kitchen at East Cap St Barracks has applied to me for wood for use of the same and to inquire if it is Your desire that I should supply her with wood If so will you please give me an order on Major Brown for the same I supplied this Soup house during the winter with wood I also need wood at this place to cook the rations of Freedmen who have contracted to leave the city and who are stopping at this place preparatory to their going away To cook their rations I have used wood belonging to the employees of this office I respectfully request an order for Ten (10) cords to be applied as indicated above
