Reports the destruction of ladders and hooks (at the Cor. of 14" and M, in charge of the Supt of Schools and his Agents) belonging to the Q.M. Dept. and for which he is responsible.

Requests that measures be taken to prevent the useless destruction of property and that the parties in charge be held responsible to the U.S. for the amount of damage done

Respectfully returned. One hook pole from which the hook had been removed was sawed in two by James Morrison. This was wrong. I point out the offender. The rest of the hooks are uninjured.

One ladder was used by Mr Scott in putting up one of our

buildings. It is now at the Cor of 17th & I Sts. and can be removed whenever there is a team at hand. The rest of the ladders were not used at all.
