I had not been aware of it at first, but people around me stare. I thought at first because my hair was done in somewhat Japanese style until Mr. Linton said that people were under the impression I was a film actress & Spanish. Incidentally Spanish popular music is quite the rage here, too. Now to bed, early for a change. Have to get up at 6.30 AM. to meet the Hawkens & the delegates to the Israeli Conference for a journey to Nikko tomorrow at 7.45 AM.

1.45 A.M.
Got up suddenly, & looked at my watch (upside down) thought it was 7.15 & that I would be late for our app. Now I see it is 1.45 & I worry about home & pray that all is well with my dear ones.

What a full, glorious day! Up at 6.15 & met the delegates at the Toshi Kai Tan Hotel at 7.15 for breakfast. We left for the station at 8 & boarded the 9 AM. train. The delegates included all different types & nations. Mr. Colveis de Silva, Leader of Soc. Party of Ceylon, handsome, dark complexion with good speaking voice (& his wife & daughter). Jim Markim, African from the Gold Coast, M. Koilara of Nepal, whose brother is Prime Minister of Nepal & who leads the opposition party. V. Hla Aung of the Burmese Embassy, Alfred Bonné, Prof. Economics, Hebrew University, Jerusalem who has taught in Columbia, Shimpei Fujimaki, Ass. Dir. Bureau of Policy, Social Dem. Party of Japan, Frank A. Naca-mura, student, 20 - Tokyo University Foreign Studies, Mrs. Sotaro Kawakami, wife of the chairman of the Social Dem. Party and many others, including several Israeli experts.
