The proportions of the stage, the purity of its plan, as a matter of fact, the entire theatre with its paintings on the walls, Chinese red carpeting throughout, the handsome tea and dining rooms beautifully done in gray, yellow & white was impressive.

The stage set, like their prints show the functional, pure character of contemporary design, the color exquisite as well as the costumes. During the dance numbers a narrow platform extends R. side stage [[image]] with four singers & two musicians who all create the strangest sounds (guttural & whining in their reed like tones) while recounting the story which the actor dances in pantomime solely. Movement & sound can be repetitiously long but the sudden element of surprise in gesture, music & sound is never lacking. This classic performance

elicited spontaneous applause from the spectators - while the popular, jazzy, Autumn Dancers did not.

The tour ended at 10.15 met Michael & Miya Sapir at the hotel as well as a Mr. Hamlet - fortunate incident - since he was able to take care of my overweight luggage. It was a pleasant leave taking of Tokyo, since the Hacohens had quite a party to see them off, including Linton, Ruth, Amnon, some of the Social Dem. Party etc. so that there was an air of gaiety about it all.

Impression - at the Geisha House, the girls entertain with the charm & playfulness of children - games of dancing about the table acting out a song with gestures. Game where the man & woman play pantomime to music of baseball dance, whoever loses must disrobe - little games of play with the hands. The two Geisha girls, one named Botan - 16 yrs
