66 Sat. Nov. 27. [[strikethrough]] March 6 [[/strikethrough]] Had a lovely walk uphill to reach the Peak tram which takes one to the top of Victoria Peak (1,770 feet) by cable. Mr. Citron's home is at the top & he led us for more than a hour's walk all around the top of the mountain. The views ascending were fantastic - seeing the houses built into the mountain sides & the very top. While walking, the sun set & it was glorious to see the city below. the harbor & the ships - but above all, the many island forms looking like clouds in a misty sky, bringing to life all the memories I have ever had of the Jap. prints & landscape. It was unbelievably beautiful. Could sing Hammerstein song 'It's a great wide & beautiful world we live in.' 67 Sat. Nov. 27 [[strikethrough]] March 7 [[/strikethrough]] Crossed in ferry with Hacohens & left them shopping. Had dinner alone at hotel & took myself to the movies across the way from the hotel - film - Tanganyika Impressions - Heavy mists in morning over the mountain tops. Am told the fog is heavy for four months of the year. In summer, the weather is humid & damp. The people I have seen amongst the Chinese are not as good looking as the Japanese. It might well be that in Tokyo, a large more cosmopolitan city with a cultured life of sorts, I saw a more varied Japanese types of all classes.
