31st & won't be back until the 9th of Feb. I asked whether I could have a photograph of the pose I had chosen for use in the meantime, whereupon he arranged for a photographer tomorrow morning at 9.30. We shook hands in warm & friendly fashion - as though we had known each other a long time.

I had almost forgotten - before I started working, he looked at me & asked, "have you always worn your hair in this fashion, or only since you are in Burma. He seemed pleasantly surprised when I told him it has always been so. "So like our Burmese - Also your hair is as black & the expression of your face, as well". I told him then, which is true,
