Prof. & Mrs. Tinker (he teaches history & she is the ballet dancer who has studied the Burmese dance) the John & Maria Baddeley's, etc. Pleasant evening.

Thursday, February 17th.
10 AM - Mrs. Gor Booth - drawing for over 2 hrs. Not too good (always is that way - when I know it must succeed) Perverse of me or what - I don't know.

After lunch to see U Hla Tin about trip to Pagan & then home.

5 PM. U Win & Mrs. Win with U Hla Tin to dinner. Discussed the trip & what to see  - as well as Burmese art, artists & the dance. U Win used to draw as a boy - won prizes. Also at 14 was an accomplished musician playing the drums & xylophone & formed his own band.

He illustrated the authentic movements of the Burmese dance & told us what he is trying to do to encourage [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] its developement. Ended by inviting us tomorrow night to his home for a buffet dinner at 7 in honor of the delegates attending the Asia Cultural Conference for Freedom (Sponsored by democratic group - for political freedom, economic rights & justice.

Friday, Feb. 18th.
AM - little ptg - Lucy's portrait & Dorothy's 
Lunch at home with Sioma Kagen, economist (living in Scarsdale, wife, Jeanne) Benjamin Higgins, M.Sc. PH.D. Mass. Inst. of Technology - Director of Indonesia Project Center for Intn'l Studies & Fritz Shoemacher. Interesting lunch & conversation - Gave Higgins & Kagen my address in N.Y.
