No.5.

On the opposite page is a photograph of a rubber pneumatic boat. The design is for one man but as a matter of fact they will float three.

The army and Navy are ordering these boats in sizes of one, three, five and seven passengers. They have proved their value in a number of cases.

An Army Pilot was forced down into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Honolulu, his plane immediately sank and left him without food or water afloat in a small boat, where he remained for a period of five days and was finally sighted and picked up.

During the past year a commercial airplane carrying three women and thirteen men was forced down off the coast of Florida and immediately sank. A three man boat was successfully launched, the three women placed inside, and the thirteen men hung on to the rope outside the boat for six hours. They were rescued by a small boat. If it had not been for the rubber boat we would have never heard of these people again.

Due to the small space these boats occupy, all marine public carriers will in time make this a part of their equipment.

A business of considerable magnitude can be created, and it would pay to equip a factory for this purpose alone.
