MEMORANDUM for the Regional Director,
Region IV, National Park Service.

We have been greatly interested in your comments and those of Mr. Sweet regarding possible use of an autogiro in censuses of bighorns in Death Valley National Monument. We appreciate the interest you have taken in this matter and the information has been made available to Mr. Knabenshue, who is in charge of the aviation department.

I gather from Mr. Sweet's letter that use of an autogiro for the purpose would be satisfactory, except perhaps for cost. The type of machine used, therefore, will probably be determined by availability.
