November 27, 1941.

Mr. John D. Driskill
National Park Service,
Manteo, No. Carolina.

Dear Dave:

We ran into some legal difficulties, and had to kill your resignation, and you are still working for the Park Service.

I personally carried your papers up to Mr. Numbers, and he in turn will see that they go through to the Secretary.

Until this is accomplished, Mr. Alexander cannot issue any instructions to you. So do not worry, I will see this thing through.

I have your parachute and Life Vest, which you will need when you fly the Fairchild back to Richmond.

Don't get discouraged, and be ready for a quick move.
                          Sincerely,

                            Roy Knabenshue,
