December 2, 1941.

Mr. John D. Driskill,
National Park Service,
Manteo, No. Carolina.

Dear Dave:

All difficulties have been overcome. A letter has been sent to Region One to send you shipping instructions and travel orders, to fly the giro to Richmond and ship it together with the other giro and all spare engines and spare parts, in one car.

As soon as this is shipped, a second car is to be spotted, you ship your household goods and spare engines and spare parts of the Fairchild to Richmond, and you are to proceed to Washington and fly the machine to Richmond, and pack everything together in the second car and ship to Gallup New Mexico.

The two boxes of rotor blades are being shipped to the Richmond office today.

You will be retained on our payroll until you are ready to go to the Reservation. All expense in connection with the above we pay, but will be reimbursed by the Indian Service.

The tire arrived last night. I will try and see if I can get you new ones. The Air Corps have tightened up on all equipment, and it may so happen that at this time we may not be able to do this.

Your new boss seems to be delighted. He made the statement that he asked for en [sic] airplane and received a fleet. I know both you and your wife will thoroughly enjoy living out there.

Hope to see you in a few days. Will be in Richmond to help check all the autogiros and spare parts.

Sincerely,

2109 Eighteenth Street,
Arlington, Va.
