winter & he looks quite well & is on the mend, thank heaven. Babs has sent her 2 children from England for mum to take care of. That will be fun for mum.
 
Aside from all this gloom of illness & war - Poyo & I had a richly stimulating trip. We went first to Boston, to see Howard give Honorary Doctor's degree to Eliel - along with Cordell Hull & others. 
We saw St john, wife, & baby - & Hudnut, & Gropius, wife, & house. His house is marvelously simple, pure, & small. A real jewel of mod. arch.
