of great mesas. That mesa country looks like architecture. It looks as if a giant architect had built it & ordered a giant sculptor to create contrasts for his buildings in stone.

We had planned to sleep in a garage in Keams Canyon but went on to Oriabe [[Oraibi]] at twilight. Oriabe [[Oraibi]] is the oldest still inhabited village in the U.S.A. - [[strikethrough]] but [[/strikethrough]] & we knew it had one hotel., [[strikethrough]] but [[/strikethrough]] We arrived there in the pitch dark & barely a light was going. A [[strikethrough]] strong [[/strikethrough]] very high wind was [[strikethrough]] blowing [[/strikethrough]] turning into a [[strikethrough]] real [[/strikethrough]] dust storm, & we enquired at [[strikethrough]] a [[/strikethrough]] two lighted houses [[strikethrough]] -& [[/strikethrough]] for
