WOMANSPACE: LOS ANGELES - 2

their involvements to other women artists, have assisted other women artists around the country who write to Los Angeles for information on what to do in their own communities. Their activies are manifold. The ripples they are creating are beginning to affect and move the country.

Now the time has arrived to create a center for these activities, a place that can perform many functions:

1. To make manifest what women's art is all about:

a. To show their paintings and sculpture

b. To show their films, performance pieces and environments

c. To house their archives - slides of their work, their biographies as well as slides and biographies of women in the past

d. To produce a monthly newsletter with documentations of events occurring at the center.

2. To involve an interested community in the problems and activities germaine to art making

The women will welcome the community of artists, teachers, students, critics, journalists, collectors, art historians into their WOMANSPACE to rap, talk, debate, have symposia about women's art as it relates to the world.

THE WOMEN ARTISTS OF LOS ANGELES ARE MOVING AGAIN

We as you to join with us. We wish to enlarge our community and to offer our talents and our wisdom to the public at large. We are applying to the government for a matching fund grant. We have to raise $20,000 in the Los Angeles community by March 31, 1972.

At our first meeting to raise funds we gathered artists and collectors from all socia strata. Some students could only donate $1 but we managed to begin our drive with $3,000 that afternoon. We have $17,000 left to go. We ask you make pledges at this time and to mail them to:
