recently -- than it is to hear it when voiced by the very figure who symbolizes authority -- the teacher. The second year women now have a chance to see themselves also in comparison to women who are still in initial stages of their development, and this allows the woman who is in her second year to clearly experience the new place that she is in. While both the [[underlined]]counteracting[[/underlined]] of female role conditioning, and the [[underlined]]constructive acting[[/underlined]] by developing work and exercising le dership are simultaneous parts of feminist education -- i.e. both are present from the beginning and throughout in the educational at the F.S.W. -- the focus for the women involved, breaks down into the division of first and second year. Because we now realize more fully how this process of feminist education works, we have come to see the F.S.W. as a two-year program and reccomend a two-year participation, even though women may choose to come to the F.S.W. for only one-year. (It seems that each year more women stay for their second year.) We are now formulating the second-year program as both independent and integral part of the F.S.W and we are beginning to consider a modified third year program for women who are interested in participating further after completing their two years as the F.S.W. A woman who is in her third year is ready to take on a role of responsibility and leadership in an area of the F.S.W. or the Woman's Building, and facilitate the process of feminist education for other women.
