Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands
Office Local Superintendent, D.C,
Corner Seventh and O Streets
Washington, Dec 4th 1866.

Colonel:

I have respectfully to inform you that owing to the leaky state of the roofs, many of the rooms at "Wisewell Barracks" are rendered uninhabitable in bad weather, and request permission to repair them. To effect this thoroughly, it will be necessary to replace the felt roofing entire - of four buildings - and partially, of the one in which the Office is located.

From a rough estimate, the cost of repairs would amount at least to Six hundred ($600 00) Dollars.

I am with respect
Your Ob't. Servant
