In accordance with my understanding of your proposition when last in Washington in relation to taking care of the sick Freedpeople who were sent to the Employment Office - 

Absolutely without a home and and could not go to [[strikethrough]] service [[/strikethrough]] an asylum I have continued to do as I had before I saw you, and ever since I kept an Employment Office for those people wich was opened to them 1st June 1866. - and have now four women discharged from Service & now waiting at my house to be [[confined?]] understanding
