you think you had means to pay for such expense and labor I think I should make out a Bill of [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] what I had expended in the care of such as had been confined in my house & sick with fever. I sent in the account for your consideration really needing to have paid me what I had expended.

But the Assistant Commr not knowing whether that this was in accordance with your direction returned the Bill - without paying any part of it.

I wish now to wish if that Bill can pass under your notice and also if I shall continue to take care of those now in my house until they can again go to service One of the women now with me have been found unable to work and will not be ready to go back to her labor for three weeks at least.

I am willing to take care of those persons with reasonable compensation, - but am already embaresed from my [[present?]] work for those - and in winter our expences are necissarly higher and to continue this care of the sick - as I have will involve me too deeply in debt

I trust the General will excuse this appeal to his consideration hoping soon to hear from the Genl

Very Respectfully
