Gen'l. Ch' Howard —

Sir:-
In connexion with the work which the carpenters are now doing at the chapel for the colored people on 23rd St I respectfully request that the Vestibule now on the inside of the chapel be removed to the outside — by so doing the chapel can be made to seat from 36 to 40 more people — which will be a great accession considering how small the building is —

I would also request an appropriation for books — Prayer books, Bibles and Primers for the Primary Dep't of the Sunday School.—

The work is progressing quite favorably and the people are entering into it zealously. — by granting the above necessary outlay you will speed the mission and add glory to the name of Christ and His Ch' in the District.

I am Sir Very Respectfully —
Edward Kenney
