ice remains above the Bridge. It is with difficulty that vessels have gone out for several days past & only with the aid of [[?]] [[Brigs?]]. It looks a little more favorable tonight. I trust the vessel I am loading will get out without damage — The Brig Julia E. Arey I think got through today without any damage — In the hury of loading I am unable to get a correct account of the Lumber before sailing & the Capt signed Bills Lading for less than he took on board — but he [[?]] his agent here to sign for any balance which it should be found he has — I find today that he has 8.350 ft more Boards than the Bills show & 20 M more Shingles. I will send Bill Lading for the difference. The Invoice I will also forward soon.

One B/L I send enclosed — Please notice [[advance ?]]

Yours truly
