Dear Billy:

Your blue little note couldn't make me feel any worse than I already feel so I'm as cheeful as I can be under the circumstances. Calamity on calamity has been dished up until I'm sick of it and hope something will change the trend of affairs before we all go cookcoo.

How does Abdelmasens' fire affect us how? Do we have to listen to a crying spell or does he come across through insurance? Isuppose the sale of Sullivans' property actually won't mean much to use unless we get a break by horning in on a payment large enough to include our second mortgage.

By the way, speaking of insurance minds me that I saw in the paper lately where the Neil Basssettsx comp anies in Newark lost a lot of money last year and were reducing capital to mark up surplus. That makes me wonder about the fire insurance I've got on my furniture and house in one of their group? I'm not panicky or anything but do you know how they stand?

Pete is not so good and I expect to have him home yesterday but have to postpone the event for a few days more. If I can only get him home I'll build him up to three meals a day again but sickness is the bunk no matter how you look at it and it's adamned good thing to stay away from if youcan do so.

Everything is so rotten that I am beginning to wonder about xxxxhx the outcome and it is a job to hold control of your emotions in times like the present. God help us if there isn't a sufficient improvement before next winter sets in'.

The market is hopeless as far as I'm concerned. Drug is not showing good earnings the first half year and I'd lay off it if I were you. If you still want to butyx stock and can find nothing against it get FST as I remarked a while back. Frankly we should keep some cash in the kick unless there is an unmistakeable turnabout trend. We were lucky on the telephone deal and stocks look dirt cheap in general right now for a a chance to make money -- but only if you've got enough cash in the kick to prevent a wipe-out if you have to wait. I haven't got it and we haven't got it so what the hell is the use of wishing?

Enough of this. Wish I could be cheerful but I can't that's all.

Your Brother,
Hay
