Dearest Mother:

Going to take off on a flight in a few minutes but I want to let you know we received the table and the toys for which we thank you a thousand times.

I would have answered earlier but Pete had had the worst spell of asthma he ever had and Doctor Smith had to give him constant injections and we had to get a nurse on 24 hour duty for the past three days. Outside of further complications due to a bad bark I guess it is over for the present and all we can do is to hope he'll gradually outgrow the trouble in the future. The worst of it is that we are off on sleep and it is no fun for me to try to fly when I don't feel like it-- so I don't, you bet.

All our love,
Your son,
