National-Benfranklin Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA. ORGANIZED 1866 EASTERN DEPARTMENT NEWARK, N.J. WILLIAM E. BROOKS, Agent 2 Main Street FRAMINGHAM, MASS Telephone Framingham 1248 NEAL BASSETT, PRESIDENT JOHN KAY. VICE-PRES-TREASURER A.H.HASSINGER. VICE-PRESIDENT WELLS T.BASSETT. VICE-PRESIDENT November 2, 1933 Dear Raymond: Excuse the delay, was quite busy yesterday. I enclose the usual monthly statement, which, I think looks a bit brighter. Your letter of October 25th is received, thanks for the insurance renewal. Best wishes for that birthday, although I am one day late on it. The old market is doing a lot of different things lately, but, am very sorry to say we did not buy any stock as yet. Du Pont, looks good as a fast mover, one way or the other, but as an investment, at the present rate of dividends, would net about 2.87% at 70. However, if we had bought at prices, as suggested by you, and sold on 10 point range, would feel better about earnings. Henry says OK. On Du Point. (spoke about buying around thirtys) but seems to favor this Mat. Alki. You previously said to buy First Natl, up to 69; I said I thought it would give a fair yield at $50. Or under, not taxable in Massachusetts. We have approximately $8500. in our savings accounts, plus about $1300. in checking account, therefore, when you pay as high as $7000. for any one stock. thing is would be asking to much out of the accounts. Unless one is at the board all the time, will say I dont know what to do to satisfy all. While we are not doing anything with Un. Corp. do not see any gain at present by selling at such a loss, for a small amount of cash. The Town of Framingham, paid the loan of $4000. to us yesterday, the amount was renewed for six months at 5%, interest to follow; if we wanted more cash at any time, we would discount the note without any particular loss of interest. You speak about the paint job. Do not know what one you speak about. The Estate houses are all finished, but will state that I am not in favor of the lighter trim, as suggested by Henry & Lill. as the dust shows too easily. Second coat is being put on here at this time. Dont know just what is on Henry's mind, but, am of opinion, that it might be possible for him to get a license to sell the hard stuff. he would want us to finance it again, if the missis and kids were out of there would be willing to work with Henry for the Estate, but, think we have furnished enough, but would like an consensus of opinion before the touch comes. Please send your vote. Received advance rent for #70-74 Pearl Street. Lizzy Knight. paid interest to amount of $120.00 mostly in one dollar bills. Bill
