Dear Raymond:

I enclose the usual monthly statement; on account of interest due from Mr. Knight. also advance rent due on Pearl Street houses on May 1st: Outside of that we have a invite to New Jersey Hotel Convention, to be held at the Ambassador Hotel, Atlantic City. May 1st, to 5th, for which we pay $10.00 per each for all activities, including rooms at the hotel. If not held up too long tomorrow, think we will go.

There does not seem to be any chance of discounting, Mc Cann. Galvin. or Howard notes at this time. Mc Cann. promised to pay some interest before fist of month; it is after banking hours, but received nothing from him as yet.

Would refer you to my letter of February 1st, in regards to Abdelmaseh note also Home Loan Corporation; Last letter states that; If we will take a second mortgage to amount of $1050.00 to be written for three years at 6% with no principle payments: This would nick us about $1400.00, or accept a note without collateral, or to take third mortgage on balance of property for amount of difference, at our own terms. It is tough on all concerned especially the Brooks Est. when the Government states that the second can only be placed to amount of 10% of their allowance. Would rather take it on terms as stated; that is adding on third mortgage. If we purchased this property at a sale it would mean to pay all taxes due, plus the one coming. Think we have property enough now. Let me hear from you about it. Also stated to them, that it took enough time and money from me to try and put this thing through, also, that if they wanted anything done between May 1, and 5 inclusive it would have to wait. When I get your idea, also from Lill. & Henry. will try and do something. ( The original "Live and Let Live") Henry seems to be in favor of taking over property if sold.

There was a small fire in Old Colony basement. We have received $47.00 from companies to cover. The damage was caused by someone throughing a butt in a box of excelsior, causing blisters on two of panel sections on ceilings of old bar room. Some carpenter had worked on one of the panels previously, which showed on of the matched boards as pried. The $47.00 will cover the three panels repair, if Henry ever gets to it.

Understood that you have been spending some of your time at Fords' Hospital in Detroit. Hope you have been able to remove the various kinks from your system by this time.
