Dear Raymond:
Usual monthly statement enclosed: Cannot understand why we dont receive bill from Framingham Pattern Works, for account of screens on Pearl Street houses; also, no bills for account of Old Colony House, as I have not had any conversation with Henry about the bill as yet. Will say he is a hard person to get, when you happen to be looking for him.
As to the stocks, Henry feels that we should buy the stocks suggested by you, but, Lill thinks we should keep the money in the banks: Yesterday she stated that, Dr. Shaughnessy. had made some good turnovers in Bank stocks, and thought it might be a good thing for us to invest in, I stated that would not satisfy all, so, that is off. The stocks mentioned by you are much lower now, and, if Lill. is satisfied, [[strikethrough]] a [[/strikethrough]] my purchase this week: All were firm today. What to hell.
A couple of surprises in the statement: $8.67 from Abdelmasch. which is on account of monthly interest on the $1300. third on the other part of the property: Nothing has been done by Home Loan as yet; too damned much red tape. Also $80.00 from Mc Cann on account; received a check to amount of $76.00 from him, which I couldnt quite understand; I owed him $6.00 personally, for which account I sent a check; same was returned payable to Realty Trust, thus the $80.00
Mother left for Rye Beach N.H. this morning for a few days.
Our sister in law is telling of making money every day on the ponies, "believe it or not," I dont believe all that I hear. She made a lot of money at Rockingham, but, has never been there. Narragansit opened at Partucket, R.I. to day, (she has went), soo, will be interested in the next report about "mah" profits in betting.
Hope you are all enjoying yourselves at Fire Island.
Your brother,
Bill
