Dear Bill:

Thanksfor your letter of the first. We are having a share of your lousy weather but it isn't a s harsh as your report. Here at the flying field the drifts make landing hazardous and we haven't been able to safely use the planes for more than a week ? Have had troubel with ice on one s section of my roof where it caused water to back up and that makes it true as usual that there is alwasy something about a house to fix. My oil heat has been dandy since I've taken care of the adjusting myself and even with a hard winter Im running lower than at any time in five winters.

Mother looks and feels better. Itook her to my physician again and her blood pressure had dropped back towards normal a whale of an amount due to her taking better care of herself by staying off her feet and slowing down the coffee. She still has awful cramps in her legs though and that item does not seem to improve. She is probably going home to Fram soon--this Sunday perhaps although I'm trying to get her to stay umtil Washingtons birthday if she will. There isn't any excitement for her with us and I don't blame her--the church is a mile away and the movies ditto with no sidewalks and she must be tired of not being able to do her home routine of funeral Masses. I think she is holding her age damned well and hope she'll do it for a long time to come.

I'll put a notein my income tax about the 850 received as nontaxable due to liquidation as reported by the Trust to Washington on forms 1096 and 1099. Thanks for this and the attached information. Just getting by by the looks of it with payments [[to mother]]. Glad to see the plus sign on the Pearl st. houses again. Henry is the sore spot as usual--who ever heard of a good business place like that showing 137 dollars for t[[h]]e year?

You may have to wait a heluva long time for that united aircraft to get to 15 3/4. The distribution will be ok as long as Henry gets no cash whatever until his notes are paid off. By the way I see he is listed on the Tax information with 1000 note only--in other words he has only paid $24 on the $1000 note and lumped accrued interest on the$6293,49 note is that it?Then is his 1600 check is paid he'll actually be in to reduce the large note,,?? well, well, well...

Hope you are all well. Best to you all

your brother
