THIS TOWN AS AERIAL BASE

2-14-20

Passenger and Express Service Is Now Contemplated

CORPORATION FORMED

Capt. Ray Brooks Associated
with Canadian Flyers

Framingham is soon to become the base of operations for an aerial corporation, according to plans now well under way. A corporation has been formed to include Capt. Arthur R. Brooks of Framingham, one of the American aviation "aces," Harland F. Banks of Framingham Centre and C. Oren Smith of Detroit, Mich. Both Banks and Smith are former lieutenants in the Royal Air Forces of the Canadian army.

If there is adequate interest and support in this locality the company will operate a passenger and express service and make exhibition flights. Commercial aeronautics are the same stage now that the automobile industry and movies were ten or twenty years ago and the local young men have taken the initiative in forming their company, believing firmly in the future of commercial aviation.

The company plans to use the English Avros, considered among the safest and most comfortable aero-planes now in use. Those affiliated with the company are experienced in aeronautics and have taken a keen interest in the advancement and progress of aviation.

Capt. Brooks is still in the U. S. service and with the 95th Pursuit Squadron at San Antonio, Texas.
