Weston Airdrome

Saturday Night- Aug. 7th 1920

Dear Brooks;

By the light of a kerosene lamp, in a farmers chateau, we will try to give you the latest.

We have come to an agreement with the International whereby we are to have an Avro on the following terms. Price $2800 f.o.b. Weston. Cash at once $ 1200, 600 additional to be paid before ship is taken from the drome, and the balance of $1000 to be paid in sixty days. We have agreed to this, in spite of having but 1500 in the bank. We arrived here today, and donned working togs, and have already assembled the undercarriage. We hope to complete the assembly and testing in a week or ten days. In the mean time we must raise at least $500 or 600 dollars. Smith may go back up to Concord or Manchester next week, if we are unable to sell the car. We must raise this amount, and take the plane out at the earliest possible date, as only two months of good flying.
