Dear Brooks;
Banks took his solo flight Saturday after-noon, and made a good record on the Avro. His P.S. on our last letter informed you of Watkins arrival with a Jn- 0X5 for commercial operations. He did not appear Saturday at all, but was operating today in between squalls of rain. However, on a good authority we are told, and our observations lead us to believe that he took no pay passengers up to date. Of course it has been raw and cold and rainy and the elite have not come forth for the joys of the air. What success he has remains to be seen. In the mean time Banks is in trim and we are to have the Avro whenever we want it on the basis as advised in our previous letter. Tomorrow we are running an add in the News, per enclosed copy. We hope to keep on operating until we have our own machine, in other words, make the best of the competition, However, they said competition is the life-blood of commerce, so the more the merrier.
It's deucedly slow getting money into the treasury, but we are still plugging them, and will see everyone one possible this coming week. We have the odd dozen or more to interview. altho neither Rice, Pormore or Long have ante-ied up.
