last Saturday for the firm - and carried us to Weston and then flew us back in the evening. They told us that they would get us a Jenny for $ 2500 f.o.b. their drome, or accept our note on an Avro in part payment. That is pretty good of the, and they really want us to succeed, so are coming morethan half way to help us.
It occured to us if that bunch that operated here last year comes over before we have our machine we might be able to get (International) them to send a machine over here and let us operate it for a split of 25% (to us) and 75%, Will's called on us some time ago and appeared to be quite fiendly, but if he had any horse sense he would keep away from Framingham when he knows that we are endeavoring to make a start from this town. We have worked up a lot of enthusiasm for Aviation, and feel that we could take up a thousand passengers or more, if the field were left to us, for our first operations. But of course there is no way of stopping him, without a machine of our own. The whole thing hinges on getting the money, and that seems a difficult matter. However, we have got to stick it a make a success of this project if it takes all summer.
Your brother and Mrs. Brooks were just in and we had a council of war, and we figure that we must get a machine as soon as it is possible. If these other people get ahead of us it will be more or less of a black eye for us, after all the plans we have made to give Framingham an aviation company.
We snet you your certificates by registered post the other day and also Bank's chare which he would like you to sign and return at your convenience.
We are hoping that you will be with us by June. There is a wonderful opportunity to make a lot of many this summer
