Dear Ray,
Since my afternoon edition Smithey has written to you I see. Good dope of old Perkins to pick this thing up and think of us. Wish we had a few more like him with us.

Col. Drennan arrived today with a Curtiss H6 and a group of reserve pilots. He has erected a tent hangar. Did not have a chance to talk with him long. He was no sooner down than your Dad & Bill were up to the field to watch them. This ought to be one point for us to use in putting this proposition up to your Dad. That the Army are here and are going to stay and that means you can get a hop most any time you want.
I did not get my solo flight today on the Avro and its [[crossed out]]Rain for[[/crossed out]] rain for tomorrow, too bad!

Enclosed you will find a clipping or two from the Boston American.

Best of the best.
