Dear Sir,

In response to your memorandum of October 1st., in relation to a supplementary report on the work of the Museum for the six months ending June 30, 1885 I have the honor to report that the department of Mollusks under my charge has been making steady progress in administering on the mass of accumulations of the last ten years and except in regard to the New Orleans exhibit has little more to offer than a record of such uneventful work which is indispensable for making the collection useful for the paleontologist or conchologist who may wish to consult it.
