May 24th.,1938.

Dear Anna:

In reference to our conversation after luncheon today, I am sending you with these lines, a catalogue of the much celebrated MORTIMER L. SCHIFF COLLECTION, which will come up for auction at Christie's, in London, on June 22nd., as well as the photographs of the various objects in which you have shown interest.

Please note that I have marked on the back of each photograph, the number under which it is listed in the catalogue - with the exception of the two magnificent gouaches by LAVREINCE, "L'Assemblée au Salon" and "L'Assemblée au Concert", which are mentioned in a different section of the catalogue which we have not received yet.

I have also indicated approximate values for these items. However, I would like you to understand that they may sell for lower or higher figures.

May I only ask you to be good enough to let me have these photographs back tomorrow. I expect within the next few days several illustrated catalogues and I will immediately send you one.

For reasons which I discussed with you, I would be grateful if you would likely let me know before your departure, in which items you are interested.

Regarding the financial set-up, I discussed this matter with Mr. Séligmann and he feels sure that credit can be extended to suit you.

To put this matter on a mutual business basis, I am confident that a commission to our firm of between 2% and 5%, according to the amount you would purchase, you will find satisfactory.
