Dear Mrs. Standish:

Ever so many thanks for your nice letter of June 17th as well as for the photographs of the two little marble statues. Inasmuch as you did not make any mention of them in your letter, I gather that Mrs. Dillman is not interested.

Regarding now Mrs. Dillman's sailing date, I had planned myself to leave between the 6th and the 10th, and thought of taking the "Ile de France" on the 7th, but should Mrs. Dillman, by any chance, go over on the "Europa" on the 9th, I could easily arrange my passage accordingly.

I am sorry to hear that Mrs. Dillman has difficulties with little Delphine's summer plans, but am sure you two will find a good solution to make it happy for everybody concerned.

Anhow, should there be any way in which I could be of assistance, do not hesitate to let me know. I know that it is always a little awkward for ladies to bother about luggage, porters, etc., etc. and I will be very glad to look after Mrs. Dillman and Mrs. Lee should she come along.

I am most concerned over the departure of your second son, Colburn Jr. who is sailing on the 29th on the "Normandie". I know very well the officials of the French Line, and Baron Hubert le Jeune, Directeur Generale of the French Railways is one of the best friends I have, who inasmuch as the French Government is subsidizing the French Line, has a great influence there. Is there anything I can do for your son in this regard? Can I furnish him with any information about Paris or any other place where he is going, or give him little practical hints? I know Europe quite well and believe me not alone in the super-deluxe edition. I would be terribly happy if I could be of assistance to you, and would you please drop me a line and ask me whatever you want -- or let me know whether your son could have lunch with me the day before the "Normandie" sails which would be Tuesday, the 28th when I could give him personally all information he might want to have.
