Paris, July 26th 1938

Dear Mrs Dillman,

Hans has just arrived from London, and tells me that he had the great pleasure of crossing the Ocean on the same boat with you, and that you were spending a few weeks in Vichy.

I am taking the liberty therefore to send you a few lines to wish you a pleasant cure, and also to take up with you a matter which, I understand, is on your mind as regards the Marin group that I have purchased for you at the Mortimer L.Schiff auction.

Hans has told me that you were worrying about the broken toes, but let me reassure you that this is a trifle which can be easily taken care of. These toes were missing before the auction, as you can ascertain from the photograph that I am sending on to you.

Now may I suggest that we have this restoration made for your account, here in Paris, and as long as according to what Hans tells me you want this group in Detroit, we would ship it directly from here to America.

However, I do want to call to your attention the fact that before moving it from the packers in London, we will have to take out not only an ordinary insurance, but a special one against breakage. I do not want of course to act in this matter without your full approval, the more so as breakage insurance is higher than the ordinary one.
