-Page II- February 10th, 1939 How is the season in Palm Beach this year? I hope conditions are better than here. Business, confidentially, "stinks", and people are depressed beyond words, rather more than is really necessary. I had a long letter from Dwight from Chicago, who told me that he had a wonderful time in Florida and apparently, was quite a success in Chicago. He is going to New Orleans, Texas, and then on to California. Went to Grace Moore's opening the other day in "Louise" at the Metropolitan; it was quite a charming performance. Also, Dwight Wyman's show is a great success. Otherwise, life goes on as usual. I had quite a bit of a cosmopolitan touch lately, as three of my old friends visited New York at the same time: one living in Buenos Aires, the other in Cape Town, and the third from Shanghai. Only Australia was missing which makes it quite perturbing as it would have made a real mappemonde. But let me close for today. Now do please write me: I am terribly anxious to hear from you. With every good wish in the world, and the kindest personal regards, As ever, RW [handwriten] Hugh Dillman, Esq. Everglades Club Palm Beach, Florida
